About this course

Teachers who differentiate build multiple means of expression and engagement into lessons to offer student options and promote ownership over learning. This session is designed to highlight ways teachers can leverage Newsela's accessible content and interactive tools to lay the foundation for personalized lessons and learning activities.

In this course you will:

  • Leverage Newsela resources and tools to ensure all students can effectively access meaningful and engaging content.
  • Apply Newsela tools and strategies to engage students in interacting with text to make meaning and build knowledge.
  • Evaluate and plan learning experiences that invite students to make choices about their reading and the ways they share their new understandings.

Tips

  • This course contains lessons and tutorials to support differentiating instruction with Newsela. 
  • This is a fully online, self-paced course. You can start and stop the course at anytime and your progress will be saved for when you return.
